We received a call from a group of organizers planning to host “The Largest Discada in the World”, an event that would be supervised by Guinness World Records and receive major media coverage. Their bold idea was to break three Guinness records: The largest pan in the world, The largest stir fry in the world, and The most tacos served in one hour. We agreed to be part of this historic moment, as discada is a traditional dish from northern Mexico—made with both beef and pork, which made it an ideal fit for us. We took on the challenge and partnered with Carnes Ramos, a company that has significantly grown its imports of American products and with whom we’ve executed several disruptive campaigns in recent years. Together with Ramos, we joined this ambitious effort, ensuring that all protein used in the event was of American origin and helping serve over 10,000 people—the official attendance number. These were the three Guinness World Records achieved and certified by the Guinness staff: • The largest pan in the world (7.3 meters in diameter) • The largest stir fry in the world (2.5 metric tons) • The most tacos served in one hour (13,215 tacos) In the end, the event received coverage from major TV networks, business leaders, and top influencers—all while the US Meat, US Pork, and US Beef logos were prominently featured throughout the venue.
